Synopsis:

As a Pastor or church professional, it is important to understand how to relate to the mental health community. Join us as Chuck McConkey, Director of Counseling at Grace Fellowship Church in Broken Arrow, OK, discusses biblical counseling, building a Christ-centered mental health referral base, and how to know when to refer. During this workshop participants will learn and understand:

  • How to create appropriate counseling boundaries in biblical counseling
  • Recognizing the needs of your client
  • Issues of liability for Pastors and laymen
  • How to build a solid Christ-centered referral base

Goals:

  • Identify proper pastoral counseling relationships
  • Learn how recognize your clients needs
  • Develop a solid referral base into the mental health community

Chuck McConkey, Director of Counseling at Grace Fellowship

Rev. McConkey attended School of the Local Church at Grace Fellowship, graduating in May 1994. He then attended Rhema Bible Training Center for two years, graduating in May of 1996. God’s plan continued in his life when he was blessed with a wife, Betty, and two sons, Rusty and Dusty, becoming a family in 1994. The door opened for him to take the position of Supervisor of Restoration by Grace. In April of 1999, Chuck assumed the Director of Counseling position at Grace Fellowship. His is currently holding the positions of Director of Restoration by Grace and Director of Counseling at Grace Fellowship Church, Broken Arrow, OK.
