RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. Do Church Goers Prefer Online Church Ministry Verses the Traditional Church Goers?

I would really like to hear your thoughts about the modern era of streaming online churches.

We are seeing mega churches building “streaming online” churches, while the pastor either ministers via Skype or at another location. The scripture is very clear about gathering together, and what is gained by being in one another’s presence.

Hebrews 10:25 scripture tells us “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

Interent ministry whether it is audio or video, it is not intended to replace attending church for spiritual growth. Internet churches now exist all around the world; however, they are still criticized for their lack on “human connection” wrote, Gordon McDonald in his book “Who Stole My Church” (2008).

LifeChurch.tv has been successful in establishing cyber-church within the Facebook community using an “Internet Campus” technology. (“Facebook Church” Swerve http://swerve.lifechurch.tv (Accessed September 29, 20157)

On the other hand, some advocate a mission-based stance, using social networking sites and networking components of other Internet mediums like blogging, chat, and instant messaging to proselytize new converts and spread the Gospel.  [Andrew Careaga, “Embracing the cyberchurch” Next-Wave http://www.next-wave.org (Accessed September 29, 2015)

Brookhaven Hosptial has sent a survey to local pastors to get their view on how online church goers affect their church.  Is it a positive tool of evangelical ministry for those who cannot go to church due to illness, age or lack of transportation?

Let us know what you think. Should streaming online church services be a substitute for traditional church attendance?

Brookhaven Hospital’s Renewal Christian Care program is here to serve you, to help you recognize symptoms and behaviors that may need to be addressed by professional counseling.  Our next Pastoral Outreach luncheon seminar willl be on  Thursday, October 15thth, 2015 when Chaplain Steve Sullivan will present, “Healing the Invisible Wounds of War.”
