Scripture verse for today: “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?” — Psalm 42:1–2
In the Gospel Book of John, Jesus talks with a Samaritan woman about her life, but most importantly her thirst for God. Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” (John 4:10)
Jesus offered to quench the thirst of the spiritually needs of the needy with “streams of living water” (John 7:37–38).
In John 6:35, “And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”
When we don’t thirst for God, to pursue after him, Proverbs says your [spiritual] well becomes polluted. (Proverbs 25:26)
How thirsty are you for God today? Take some time, and read the Word of God and be refreshed by the streams of living water.
