“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)
As we begin a new journey, a season of new hope, let’s forget those things that have dragged us down. Some of the things that may be wearing you down might have you feeling guilt or shame. I have good news for you! It does not matter what you have done. If you run to Christ, He is so quick to forgive us and God does not condemn us for what we’ve done. In fact, He does not even remember those things that you feel shameful about.
Romans 8: 1 says, “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.” That is good news! Our heavenly father loves us so much and He cares about our thoughts and about how we feel about ourselves.
God made it easier for us. God says in Isaiah 55:8, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
As we say in New York, “Forget about it.”
