Scripture says in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Whatever job God has assigned us to do, He wants us to serve Him with all our heart and soul. Christ meant for laborers, “don’t do it for them,” do it for me! Even the things you don’t want to do. If you work as if He sent you, then you will take more pride in your work because you are not doing it for a human being.
It is God who gives you your inheritance and reward for the work He has assigned it for you. When you begin to practice being a good steward over the area God has entrusted you with, you will begin to have a different attitude. As believers, we don’t want to displease God. We want His favor.
Your attitude changes, and you will be on time for work, or even come in early. You will have a smile on your face, because you have the joy of the Lord. You will feel peace and it will bring positive change in a hostile work environment. You can bring change to your work just by simply performing as if the Lord went to work with you. God said in Psalms 91, I will never leave you nor forsake you!
Having this mind set will help you focus on the fact that God wants us to serve those in authority, with diligence, not carelessly. You will build character and will demonstrate flawlessness that brings opportunities for promotions and favor.
Be a good steward of what God has entrusted you with, and you will be blessed. God will bring you favor with God and Man.(Proverbs 3:4)
