RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. RENEWAL Devotional: Keep the Flame Burning

Written by: Lydia D’Ross, Renewal Program Outreach Chaplain and ordained minister

Keep the flame burning applies not only to our intimate relationships, but also to our personal relationship with our heavenly Father.  The book of Songs of Solomon shares the love affair King Solomon had with his wives.  The book is a very passionate love story, one that can often be read over and over, to rekindle the flame in our relationship with our mate.

Our heavenly Father embodies the breadth and depth of love and He wants us to have a close relationship with Him.  It is not enough to just know that there is a God, believing this is all we need to get to heaven.  There is much more than that, as Jesus says in Mathew 7:23 “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not ….[do these things in your name] 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you…”  Jesus was saying that many know about Him and about His promises, but never took the time to develop a close relationship with Him. Just going to church, for example, is not enough to truly know Christ.  Jesus eagerly wants to be with you and share His plans for your life. It takes daily devotion, prayer and talking to our heavenly father.  It is a dedication that is similar to what it takes to have a successful marriage.  If we ignore our spouse and don’t spend quality time with them, eventually, the love they had once shared, will fade away.

Don’t let that happen to you and those who are important in your life. Begin today and rekindle that flame with our heavenly Father as well as with our earthly relationships.  Let the way you spend your time be a reflection of what is important to you.  Begin by setting aside daily devotional time, and let those around you know how much you care for them.  Simple gestures and thoughts of kindness go a long way in a relationship.

God showed us His love for us by sending Christ on the cross, so we may have eternal life. –John 3:16. Our heavenly father loves us that much! So spend time with Him today!
