The next few weeks can be a bit overwhelming for children and parents as both can feel anxiety as the new school year begins.
As a parent, we can help our children start their day with a great breakfast meal, but the best assurance is spending time with them in the morning doing devotionals or prayers.
Before my sister’s passing, she used to spend every morning praying with her children, and praying for their teachers to have a great day. I would witness the peace that she would pass on to them, letting them know how much she loved them. She would talk to them as they waited for the bus together. Those are precious moments we can have with our kids if we don’t rush past them.
Proverb 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Children grow up quickly, and it is important to spend as much time with them as possible when they’re young.
Start today, and begin a new school year praying together. Enjoy the journey of seeing your children develop into men and women of God.
