Isaiah 11:2 tells us that God wants us to receive His rest and by receiving His rest, we receive His Spirit. God’s Spirit imparts wisdom to us in many ways and we have obtained His wisdom through those vessels. We receive knowledge about how to conquer those things that might try to overpower our thoughts and actions.
God’s Spirit through fellowship with others in Bible studies and in the counsel of wise mentors, helps us understand the kind of life God wants for us. The Spirit comforts and helps us get through tough situations. Even when we cannot express ourselves in our prayers, reading His word daily allows us to get closely acquainted with our Lord. Then we will know the plans and pursposes for our lives. We will then be able to pursue them, because He has imparted rest upon us.
Let’s not get caught up in the cares of this world, and, instead, trust God to lead us through the power of His Counsel.
Begin reading the book of Proverbs daily with your family. There is so much practical wisdom and insight in that book that can prevent simple human mistakes.
