RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), so that the man of God may be complete, and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. –2 Timothy 3:16 – 17 (AMP)

God’s Word is what feeds our spirit and as we take the word like medicine, the Word of God strengthens and nourishes us daily. This will cause us to grow.

We cannot allow ourselves to go without daily spiritual food. If we do, we are starving our inner soul from spiritual nourishment that brings balance to our spirit, soul and body.  It is the same with of our physical body. If we don’t take care of our bodies by eating good nutritional foods, our bodies will eventually fail us.

If we feed our spiritual body with other superficial things like watching too much TV, instead of reading a book, or getting distracted by doing too many things that steal our focus away from the Word of God, the same thing will happen. We will feel weak in our faith, and when crisis comes, we don’t have the spiritual strength to overcome.  Galatians 6:8 warns us about this stating, “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

You are responsible to feed yourself with the Word of God just as you are responsible to take care of your body, by ensuring that it receives the nutrients it needs on a daily basis. Some believers stay spiritually stagnant, because they haven’t established a pattern of feeding on the Scriptures. They miss out on the satisfaction, the success, and the prosperity God wants to give them, because they don’t spend quality time reading, studying, and meditating on His Word.

Don’t make that mistake!  It takes commitment. Determine to be like Joshua and “desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2 KJV). Open up your Bible every day and get “nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine” (1 Timothy 4:6).  Feed your heart daily with the Word, so that you can be ready to overcome any obstacles that come your way.

Suggested Scripture Reading: Psalm 119:1 – 32
