Time is your most precious gift, because you only have a set amount of it. Your time makes up your life. That is why giving of your time for a cause or for someone else is the greatest gift you can give. Investing in our children takes time, and it is worth it to teach them how to be caring and responsible adults. It is not enough to love children only with words. An interesting exercise to check in with how you are using your time is to make a list of the values in life that are most important to you. Then estimate how much of your time you would like to allot to each aspect. You will often find that while you may list God and family at the top of your list, the amount of time you spend in activities focused on those values falls short.
‘He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover, he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.’ (Eccl. 3:11) “There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1-15
Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that there is a time for everything, but sometimes that time doesn’t seem right. What time are you coming into? The most successful people are those who make every minute count. Watch out for the time stealer and distractions that steal precious moments from your life. Pray about your day, your week, and your life goals to find out what God wants you to do, and what He doesn’t want you to do. Time is priceless, don’t waste it.
