Luke 6: 45 says, “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Jesus taught in parables so that we may search in our hearts what is good and what is evil. What we speak out of our mouth is what is in our hearts.
Matthew 12:34 says that “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Jesus told a story of a man who accumulated abundant treasures and decided to store up everything for himself (Luke 12:16-21).
It means whatever is in a person’s heart will eventually be shown through the things they say.
One of my favorite scriptures that I pray each day is in Psalms 139:23 “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my [anxious] thoughts.”
If we speak fear, then we have fear in our hearts. If we speak love, then we have love in our hearts.
Search your heart today, and ask God to show you what is in your heart, and give it to Him. God treasures what is in your heart. He delights in you when you delight in Him.
