RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. We’re here to provide the guidance and support you need to recover.

RENEWAL Devotional: Worry Not–God is Working

Written by: Lydia D’Ross, Renewal Program Outreach Chaplain and ordained minister

We all go through ups and downs in life. It is in these difficult times that we need support the most. How one is able to navigate the peaks and valleys, is defining. It is through these times that you develop a strength within yourself that you never knew you had.  We grow through these ups and downs as we face life’s challenges. Staying positive is part of getting through these difficult times. Staying positive despite the situation helps you become a better person in the process. A negative attitude leads to worries and anxieties.  Worry not, God is working and moving on your behalf. So be at rest. Bruce Wilkinson says, “Tests of faith are trials and hardships that invite you to surrender something of great value to God, even when you have every right not to.”

Through tough times we learn to “count it all joy when you fall into…trials.” (James 1:2)

Pain is inevitable, but misery is optional. Through these times we ask God to enlarge our heart when we are in distress in order to receive more of Him and less of me. (Psalms 4:1) Someone told me once, that most of the things we know best, we learned the hard way.  Our greatest joy in being a successful overcomer in any situation is learning that progress may come from our greatest pain.  We also learn to endure, to be patient and stand firm holding on to the promises of God. (James 5:7-8)
