Renewal Seminar Snapshots

Date: August 30th, 2007

Synopsis:

Addiction to internet pornography is a subject of growing concern in communities throughout the United States and the world. As a pastor, chaplain, or church professional, it is important to understand the issues that surround sexual addiction and how to help those trapped in its grasp. During her presentation, Kelli Erwin, LPC, LADC, of St. Pius X Counseling, identified sexual compulsivity on the internet, courtship disorder, effective boundaries, and resources for recovery. Her presentation explored tools to:

1) identify symptoms of sexual compulsivity related to the internet;
2) reveal courtship disorder within internet sexual relationships;
3) establish boundaries for abstinence from sexual behavior on the internet; and
4) provide resources for recovery.
