RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. Something New for Christmas

by Rev. Tom Gray

One of the reasons we give gifts at Christmas is that Christmas has given so much to us. I’m not talking about the commercialism but the real meaning of Christmas. Our world has rarely been at peace. Personally we struggle to find peace.

What we believe that Jesus is the source of peace. Sadly, what we’ve made of Christmas in modern times really doesn’t take that into consideration. If anything, we are more frantic at Christmas than at other times of the year.

It all seems, on the surface, to be good stuff. Parties, dinners, presents—who doesn’t like it? It is extremely busy, it’s expensive, and it’s stressful. I enjoy Christmas celebrations, but it can miss the whole point.

Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.

“Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

Luke 12:22–27

Jesus’ new priorities for our lives don’t include going into debt or exhausting ourselves as happens to so many who want to “get with the season.”

Jesus calls for something new. I’m not at all against Christmas celebration, but I am aware that it often blurs the reason for the season. For this Christmas, at least in part, try something new. Don’t focus on stuff. Cut out unnecessary activity. Use that time to reflect on the ones you love and the real reason for the season and enjoy a great gift of Him:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
