RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. We’re here to provide the guidance and support you need to recover.

Studies show that faith can help to promote good physical  health and fight disease.  1 Corinthians 6:19 says, “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself.” [New Living Standard translation]

This scripture means that we are held accountable for how we take care of our physical bodies as well as our spiritual walk with God. God cares about our health and how we take care of ourselves.  We are in the midst of summer and we need to watch what we eat and be sure we take good care of our health by drinking lots of fluids. This is to avoid dehydration, heat exhaustion symptoms and maintain some physical activity. Motivation to maintain our physical activity level can wane in the summer since the heat tends to wipe out our physical strength.

What does it mean that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit written by Got Questions. org  wrote “how we behave, think and speak, and what we let into the temple through our eyes and ears becomes critically important as well, for every thought, word and deed is in His view.”  When we take care of spiritual health with God, it brings energy inside of us to take care of our overall well being. It is a spiritual connection.

Did you ever hear that expression, “I think my body is talking to me?”  Well it does! It is important to listen and to nourish our spiritual self as well as our physical body.  By doing so, we feel less stressed, happy and our bodies might respond by having fewer health issues.

Our next Pastoral Seminar will be on August 11th, 2016, and will be about suicide prevention. Contact Lydia D’Ross at 918.438.8016 to RSVP.
