RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. We’re here to provide the guidance and support you need to recover.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” We all know what that means. I’d like to suggest a different focus. Instead of being stunned and blessed by what seems extraordinary, make a practice of looking for what is beautiful in the ordinary.

Look around you this next week—maybe like you did as a kid. You’ll be amazed at what you see when you make a point of looking for it. Take a few extra seconds at sunrise or sunset. The colors and the drama of changing light surpass any painting. Do the same looking at the night sky from a dark and clear space. God’s Nature reveals His handiwork, at least in part, and touches us deeply in our souls.

The living creatures of His creation are amazingly beautiful. How do you feel when you see a kitten or a puppy? What about the smile that suddenly beams in a child’s face? These, too, are a part of true beauty created by God. Then think of the food you love, the walk that refreshes your day—all of these are an intentional part of God’s creation.

Do these things on a regular basis. Our world can get ugly at times. We can become cynical unless we look, at times, away from what sin has made, to what God has made. Be reminded not only that God created everything beautiful, but that He is still involved in His creation and probably smiles when He sees you enjoying it. Life is meant to be a blessing.

“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith!” (Luke 12:27-28)
