RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Surrender Your Darkness To God

Each and every one of us has things to work out. Scripture says in Philippians 2:12  “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,…”  What Apostle  Paul  meant, in order to work out our salvation, we must be willing to surrender to God all that is within our soul, the deepest part that we see, so dark that we cannot bare.

Have you ever felt and said, ” I just can’t take any more of this pain” or “I just can’t take it any more”?  What you are feeling, is the darkness of your soul crying out for peace. Sometimes finances can overwhelm us. Sometimes it could be a loved one, or several losses in the same year. Sometimes it is worrying about our children who are now all grown up or even a loved one serving in the military.

In Hebrew the word translated “work out” means, what are you going to do to accomplish or bring out (work out your salvation with fear and trembling) to do whatever you must on behalf of your soul, to come out of darkness into God’s light- God’s peace for you.

The “working out” that the Philippians are asked to do, then, is not to use their own innate abilities to accomplish their salvation, but to let God act in and through them.

How do we surrender our darkness to God then?  Philippians says, “… for it is God who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2.13, NRSV)

Being addicted to drugs or alcohol is a temporary solution for your soul. Eventually you are going to have to deal with the root of that darkness that has started with a small seed. It can be so rooted that your inner soul is crying for help.

God is not condemning you for your short falls, but instead God is wanting to restore your soul.

There is a song from Oregon City Church of Christ that has been written like this:

Restore my Soul

 Restore my spirit, Lord
I need restored
My heart is weary
Please help me, dear Lord

I stand in need of more
Strength from your Word
Renew my love
Rebuild my faith
Oh, restore my soul

Revive the fire, Lord
Deep in my soul
Stir my desire
To work in your fold

Light in my heart, dear Lord
Your zeal grown cold
Renew my love
Rebuild my faith
Oh, restore my soul

Renew my courage, Lord
It needs restored
My cup is empty
Refill it, dear Lord

Replace all doubts and fears
With faith so bold
Renew my love
Rebuild by faith
Oh, restore my soul “

Start today to renew and restore your soul.  Surrender it all to Him who created the universe and all that is within it, including you!
