RENEWAL is designed to offer hope and comfort to people suffering from mental health disorders or addiction disorders, and support to the people who love them. Our approach is based on respect for the dignity of the people we serve and the belief that through a faith-based program, life-changing results are possible.

RENEWAL: Christian Treatment and Recovery is an optional treatment supplement available through Brookhaven Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At Brookhaven, we understand that when you are suffering from an eating disorder, a personality disorder, a behavioral health disorder or chemical dependency, life can seem utterly hopeless. It can cause Christians to feel abandoned and distant from God. However, by strengthening your spirituality, in conjunction with our professional medical services, you can experience results that you never thought were possible.

RENEWAL is based on the belief in:

God who created us and loves us (Genesis 1:26)
Jesus Christ who redeems us (Isaiah 53:5)
The Holy Spirit who guides us (Acts 1:8)

When you participate in RENEWAL, you’re part of something much bigger than yourself. Brookhaven clients receive expert care from our team of mental professionals. Treatment is solution-focused and success-oriented. Our goal is to minimize symptoms, help individuals address life problems and live fulfilling lives. Sometimes healing requires a helping hand. The Fruit of Peace

Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for RENEWAL at Brookhaven Hospital

There are nine (9) defined fruits of the spirit that Galatians teaches us and today we are going to be talking about the fruit of peace love (Galatians 5:22)

The Fruit of the Peace is to know God. If you do not have God in the center of your life, you will struggle to have peace.  Have you seen the bumper sticker that reads: “No God? No Peace. Know God. Know Peace”?  Seeking a sense of peace outside of God will eventually cause major problems in your life.

The forbidden fruits of peace are drugs, alcohol, pornography, to name only a few. Many Christians struggle with this as they feel that the use of drugs gives them a sense of peace. Instead, abusing substances separates us from being close to God.  The reality of these forbidden fruits is that they can lead to behavior in which you might not otherwise engage.  Thank God we have a peacemaker; a savior that cleanses us from it all and forgives us our trespasses daily. (Romans 8:9-10)  Be at peace. Know that the scripture says in Romans that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

How do you know you have peace? The opposite of peace is conflict, strife, violence, anger, confusion or fear.  The peace of God brings relief and freedom from all these things. Even when others may surround you who are struggling, you can be at peace in the midst of it all. You can pray in a negative atmosphere as God knows our thoughts before we even pray to Him.

If you are struggling to have peace in your life, let us help you today to restore peace to you and your family.  If you are located in the Tulsa area call today to set an appointment to meet with an Outpatient Counselor, 918.438.4257.
